Our first meeting as Derby PF Support Group was a success on Thursday 2nd October 2014.
The meeting was kicked off by introductions from the team, followed by a talk by Co-founder Martin Blain on our history and intent.
Next came Jo and Mandy summarising what we are not – specifically not a substitution for medical help. They were followed by two ladies from the Breathe Easy help group who specialise in COPD conditions.
Then Ruth Fleming, IPF project manager for the BLF, introduced the British Lung Foundation explaining who they are, what they do and their current push of IPF as well as other methods of support they offer and even current research and plans for the future.
To round off the talks, a few links were given out the next meeting date publisised.
Thanks to Tony Cromby we had lots of photos of our first meeting, so email us if you want to see them.
In addition to this, we and a visit from BBC Midlands News who did a story about us. They interviewed both Graham, our treasurer and PF sufferer, and Martin, our acting chairman.
The story was aired on Friday morning then again in the evening.
