Joanna Ruck

Jo graduated in 1992 and has gained over 20 years’ experience as an NHS Respiratory Physiotherapist. She worked in the Acute hospital setting for 7 years before moving into the Community to become Clinical Specialist and Team Lead of the Community Adult Respiratory Service in Derby. This role involved provision of specialist respiratory assessment and management to patients with respiratory disease across Southern Derbyshire, as well as managing a multi-disciplinary team and the day to day running of the Service.

 

Jo is actively committed to the education and training of others in respiratory care. She feels this is essential to support the development of knowledge, skills and confidence to improve and promote quality respiratory care both locally and nationally. Areas of special interest and expertise include Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Breathing Pattern Disorders, Chronic Cough and respiratory compromise secondary to neuromuscular conditions.
